Winter Wear

Wednesday, 23 September 2015
As everyone else is pulling out their warm coats and scarves in other parts of the world, I am sadly preparing to put all of mine away and say goodbye until next year. Spring has most definitely sprung here in Australia! I absolutely love dressing for colder weather, although it never really gets all that cold here. My jumper and scarf collection is way too large for someone who only sees cold days about 3 times a year, but a girl can dream right? So before I relegate all my cold-weather clothes to the back shelf of the cupboard, I thought I'd share some of my favourites with you all.

Jumpers:

Knitted jumper from Dotti
I just love this jumper so much, especially the 3/4 sleeves and the cute little collar! I found this at a thrift store and have been loving it ever since, especially seeing as I payed about a 10th of the price I would have in store! The speckled dark grey and white pattern is the really unique feature that attracted me to the jumper at first. I always feel cute and put-together wearing this jumper and I'm sure it will be getting love well into the future!

Grey jumper from Ice Design
How could you possibly resist the quote on this! Hello-I Think I Like U. I wear this jumper almost every morning to breakfast at college, before I have decided what I'm going to wear for the day, and like to feel as if I'm spreading some positivity for the morning! This jumper goes with everything and is just a really nice staple to have in the cupboard for days when you don't know what to wear.

Black jumper from Zara
I  actually purchased this on holiday in France last year, I really wish I had a chance to shop at Zara more often! This is a pretty thin jumper but the material is so, so soft! The velvety little elbow pads just sold it for me, they add the cutest touch to the jumper overall instead of leaving it as a plain black jumper!

Blue and grey striped jumper from Jeanswest
This is basically my all time favourite jumper for lazy days. I bought this at a thrift store for about $5 and it was the best decision I've ever made. I have to say that this is the only time I have ever owned something in the size extra large-and been excited about it!  This jumper is so big that I have to roll the sleeves up two or three times to be able to use my hands, and I wouldn't have it any other way. It is just so comfy and cute paired with leggings, and also looks great (and slightly dressier) with a denim shirt underneath. Everyone needs a giant comfy jumper like this!

Red jumper from Target
Red is one of my favourite colours, so this is a lovely jumper for cool days when I need something to brighten me up! The material of this is slightly thicker than my other jumpers and very stretchy, making it super comfy and warm. The tighter waist makes it quite flattering as you don't lose all your shape like often happens with a big thick jumper, and the silver button detail on the shoulders just adds an extra bit of interest to the overall look.

Scarves:

As I mentioned, my scarf collection is pretty crazy-I really just picked out a couple of my favourites here. I often like to brighten up my outfit with a colourful scarf as most of my winter basics are fairly neutral colours.
The light blue one is my current favourite-I 'borrowed' it from my mother once and she hasn't quite got it back yet! The tag says it's from Pimkie but we found it at a thrift store!
The grey scarf, from Cotton On, is slightly thicker and warmer, and was a recent purchase as it was on sale for $3! It might just have to wait until next year to get some use though.
The floral patterned scarf is a gorgeous poofy cotton one that I bought from Pimkie while on exchange in Germany. I lived in this scarf, the colours are lovely and go with almost everything, and it is surprisingly warm!
The green scarf is from Rivers and is much lighter than the rest, therefore getting the most wear here in Aussie! It is a lovely silky material that feels so nice to wear.
Last but most certainly not least, my patchwork multicoloured scarf was also purchased in Germany from a little boutique and is an all time favourite-it is the perfect mixture of colour and warmth and I love it to pieces!

That's all for today folks, I hope you enjoyed the post and I will see you all soon!

  1. You sound like you shop like me girl! Thrifted things, sale items, and anything perpetually borrowed from mom definitely make up a lot of my wardrobe too!

All super cute items! Although I am jealous that you're getting springtime right now! As much as I love cozy sweaters, I would probably live in that season if I could :)
