Monthly Moments | December

Saturday, 30 December 2017

Hi guys!
My December started in New Zealand with some beautiful hikes and lovely adventures with my family, which I've written a couple of seperate blog posts about- so keep your eyes peeled for those soon! The rest of the month was spent around home getting in the festive spirit and spending time with my family and friends, so I've got a few of those moments to share here.

Christmas In Australia

Tuesday, 26 December 2017

Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope you all had the most wonderful day and are now feeling very relaxed and recharged after some time off. We tend to do Christmas a bit differently over here in Australia, so I thought I'd share a few snapshots of how we celebrated!

December & Christmas Thrift Finds

Friday, 22 December 2017

Hi guys!
It seems that a lot of you really loved my last Op Shop Haul (find it here, if you haven't seen it!), so I've been looking forward to doing another one for a while! I've been super lucky with the bits I've found while hunting through my local thrift stores lately, and I thought I'd share some of my favourite finds. These were the product of only two thrifting trips, so I think I've done pretty well!

A Day in Auckland | What I Wore

Wednesday, 20 December 2017

Hey guys!

I've recently returned from a wonderful trip to New Zealand with my boyfriend. The post-holiday blues are hitting me hard, so in an attempt to make it last that bit longer, I thought I'd share some of my adventures with you all.

Life This Week

Monday, 2 October 2017

Hi guys! Gosh, has it been a crazy couple of weeks! There's been so much going on that I've barely remembered I even have a blog, let alone found time to write a blog post. Here's a little update on what's been going on in my life.

Monthly Moments | July

Friday, 4 August 2017
Hi guys!
July has been a busy but happy month for me. I've been a bit better with taking photos of what I've been up to lately, so here's some moments from my life this month.

July Faves

Friday, 28 July 2017

Hi guys! My July has been quite a nice mix of relaxing and catching up with family as well as steadily getting through some study. I'm feeling rather accomplished and pleased with myself, although I'm still not particularly excited about the end of holidays and starting back at uni again! Here's some of the things I've been loving this month.

Mini Makeup Haul

Saturday, 22 July 2017

Hi guys! It's been so long since I've done one of these posts, as I really haven't been acquiring much new makeup recently. I've got my everyday makeup routine so well sorted that I haven't felt the need to make many new additions! However, I have picked up some things here and there as old things run out, so here's a few of the pieces I've collected over the last few months.

31/50 | A Goodreads Update

Sunday, 16 July 2017

Hi guys! As many of you might know, the book website Goodreads allows you to set a goal and record the books you read each year. My goal for the year was to read 50 books, and so far I'm doing pretty well, having read 31 books! I thought I'd talk you through a few of my favourites so far this year.

Winter Lush Haul

Saturday, 8 July 2017

Hi guys! My last proper Lush Haul was over Christmas at the one and only Oxford Street store, so needless to say it's been a while since I last stocked up on Lush goodies! Winter is well and truly here on my side of the world, and this (plus me being at home for the month with the bath!) had me seriously craving some bath bombs!

July Goals

Tuesday, 4 July 2017

Hey guys! July is here already and it's brought with it the most gloomy overcast weather over the past couple of days... Happy Winter, Australia!

May Goals

Saturday, 6 May 2017

Hi guys! In light of my last post where I talked about my general exhaustion and lack of motivation over the last month, I thought it was time I kicked things up a notch and set myself some fresh new goals!

Monthly Moments | April

Tuesday, 2 May 2017
Hi guys!
Just like that another month has flown by and it's time for my next Monthly Moments! April has been a month of highs and lows for me-I've struggled with a flu that never seemed to end and felt generally exhausted with motivation levels at an all time low. However,  I've managed to end the month on a high with a few days of hiking and exploring and generally refreshing my mind which has been lovely.

To celebrate surviving another term, my boyfriend and I took a couple of day-trips over the weekend to explore some more of the beautiful area we live in. On Saturday we drove to Josephine Falls, which is about an hour from Cairns. It was a gorgeous spot for a picnic lunch, although way too cold to swim (I tried!) as we got there a bit late in the afternoon when it was all shady. We'll have to go back in the warmer months sometime!

Monthly Moments | March

Saturday, 8 April 2017
Hi guys!
I find that it can be so easy to forget that I do anything other than spend my life at the hospital and studying, but I do in fact have a life occasionally! In an effort to remind myself of the fun things I'm doing and celebrate the things that keep me from going insane, I thought I'd start a new series recapping some of the best moments each month. I hope you enjoy this first Monthly Moments!

England Adventures | Cornwall

Saturday, 1 April 2017
Hi guys! I've finally managed to collate the last of my photos from my England trip for you! (Only 3 months too late, no biggie right?!) This is a photo diary of our last week in Cornwall, as well as the last couple of days we spent in France before flying home. Enjoy!

Life Lately | The Wardrobe Clearout, The Book Haul and The Break

Sunday, 12 March 2017

Hi guys! Goodness, hasn't it been a while? I'm sure some of you might have been starting to wonder if I was gone for good, that is, if you noticed at all! Alas here I am again with another of these 'where have I been? ...busy!' posts that I hate so much yet always click on when others post them because I'm nosy and I have to know!

The Wardrobe Clearout
So what's been a-happening in this part of the world? Well, for a start, I've been seriously clearing out my wardrobe! I had so many things sitting there that I liked, but didn't love and I decided it was time to stop putting it off and get rid of the clutter! (No, I haven't actually read The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up but I have read Get Your Sh*t Together which is basically the same thing right?) A lot of things have been donated and I've also managed to sell some things on Carousell which I'm really pleased about! I always thought it seemed like a bit of a scam (isn't everything that's advertised on Facebook?) but I've found it a surprisingly positive marketplace so far. If you're in Australia you should definitely go check out my page! With the space I've cleared out I'm slowly trying to replace the items in my wardrobe with some essential, good quality basics and statement pieces-a halfway Capsule Wardrobe if you will, as I'm not dedicated enough to go the whole way!

The Book Haul
What does a poor uni student who has no time to read do when she sees a sale on Book Depository? Buy books of course! I was very restrained this time and only bought three- The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers, It End With Us by Colleen Hoover and Milk And Honey by Rupi Kaur. Speaking of, how gorgeous is the cover of The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet?! I honestly can't stop looking at it sitting on my table! I've read about 90 pages of it so far and I have the feeling that the story is going to be just as wonderful as the cover. Keep an eye on Goodreads for my full review when I finish!

The Break
I've only been having a break in terms of blogging as the rest of life has been very far from a break! I've just finished my first 6-week rotation of 4th year medicine, and it has been crazy, wonderful, exhausting, emotional and all things in between! I've honestly just spent the last 6 weeks trying to stay afloat and can safely say that I now seem to have got the hang of it (fingers crossed, knock on wood etc etc). Some highlights so far:
-Successfully being signed off on my cardiovascular and respiratory examinations, which I thought I would never ever get the hang of or remember!
-A patient laughing so much at me trying to examine him that he said I'd healed him purely through laughter (was that a compliment??)
-Actually coming up with the right diagnosis after chatting to and examining a patient in the Emergency Department
-Using my stethoscope for something useful for once!
-Gaining confidence in so many areas, from taking blood to asking the stupid questions I always have

So all in all I'm very happy with how things are going and feeling quite content with life right now. I'm very ready for a bit of a break and some time to read my new books and relax though!
How have you all been? What's been happening in your lives lately?

P.S. That Book Depository sale is still going, with free worldwide shipping! Just in case you needed an excuse for a new book or two! ;)

England Adventures | Newcastle

Friday, 3 February 2017
Hi guys! I'm finally back with the second installment of my England Adventures! My Christmas and New Year was spent visiting my Dad's home town of Newcastle and exploring the surrounding area, and I have to say I absolutely adored it! It was probably my favourite part of our whole holiday, with plenty of time for exploring as well as snuggling up by the fire and hanging out with my family. Here's a few snapshots of what we got up to!

England Adventures | London

Monday, 9 January 2017
Hi guys! I hope you're having a very happy January so far! Mine has been filled with lots of travelling, family time and laughter and I'm feeling very grateful. Since the middle of December my family have been travelling on a grand trip around England, enjoying the cold and Christmas vibes while visiting friends and chasing down some family history. Our first week of the trip was spent exploring London in the lead up to Christmas and I thought I'd share a few photos from our adventures so far.
