Book Review- The Moonlight Dreamers

Saturday 8 October 2016

Hi guys! On Monday I handed in my final assignment for the semester, which was such a huge relief! In celebration of getting through a crazy couple of weeks at uni, I thought I'd treat myself to a new book and this is the one I chose. It's been a while since I've written a book review (or even read a book for that matter!) so I thought it was about time I brought you another!

The Moonlight Dreamers is a book about four girls tied together by their passion to chase their dreams. Although all very different, the girls find common ground in their struggles to stay true to themselves and support each other through all the challenges they face. Although I felt that this book was targeted at a slightly younger age group than me, I still enjoyed it and really connected with the issues it dealt with.

THREE REASONS YOU'LL LOVE THIS BOOK:
1. It will give you that little kick of inspiration to keep believing in your dreams! It's very uplifting and cheerful, with strong themes of staying true to yourself and chasing down your dreams no matter how difficult it may seem. It's sure to leave you with warm fuzzies and renewed inspiration!

2. It has four very strong but very different characters, meaning most people will relate to at least one of them. I could definitely relate to elements of each of the girls and I'm sure you guys would be able to as well! They face various issues including parent troubles, bullying and homosexuality, which I'm sure most people will find both interesting and relatable.

3. It's a fairly easy read-I finished it in less than 24 hours! It was a really nice little escape from the world for a while, I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a new read that isn't too heavy.

"Yes: I am a dreamer. For a dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world." -Oscar Wilde

What have you guys been reading lately?

  1. Great review! This sounds like a fun read. I have been reading lots of heavy stuff lately and could sort of use a break, so maybe I'll check it out.(Also, that beautiful cover though!)
