Book Review- The Reflections of Queen Snow White

Wednesday, 27 April 2016

Hey guys! I'm back with another book review for you! I've been super busy with Uni so I've been a bit slow getting through this one, but I'm finally finished and can tell you all about it.

What happens when 'happily ever after' has come and gone? This book tells the story of Snow White from a new perspective, showing us what happens after the fairytale ended. Queen Snow White is now aging and has lost her husband-along with her desire to continue living. The discovery of the magic mirror in a disused corner of the castle forces her to confront many demons from her past and find new meaning in the phrase 'happily ever after'.

April Playlist

Tuesday, 19 April 2016

Can you tell I'm starting to get into the Autumnal spirit over here? It has FINALLY started to cool down a bit here in Aussie and I'm seriously loving it! So far, April has been an interesting month for me-a lot of highs, a lot of lows, and a bit of self-discovery thrown in there too. I've also found a lot of amazing new music this month, which I'm going to share with you all here!

Seeing as there's so many songs in this month's playlist, I won't be adding a description of all of them (there's only so many times you can say 'OMG this is just the best song ever' without it getting boring, right?!)-but my absolute faves will get a mention!

Someone Who Can Dance- Icona Pop.

If It Ain't Love- Jason Derulo. This comes a close second to Light It Up-it's just so good!

Adventure Of A Lifetime-Coldplay.

Light It Up- Major Lazer, Nyla, Fuse. This has to be my ultimate favourite from this month! It seriously just makes me want to dance!

Bang My Head-David Guetta, Sia. I challenge you to listen to this song and not want to get up and dance. I swear it's impossible!

Nothing Like This-Blonde, Craig David.

Rumour Mill- Rudimental.

In2-WSTRN.

Something About You- Majid Jordan.

Sun Goes Down- Robin Schulz, Jasmine Thompson.

No One- Golden Features, Thelma Plum.

Counting Sheep-SAFIA. Both SAFIA and Golden Features (from the song above) are coming to a music festival that I'm going to in a couple of weeks and I am SO excited! I love both of these songs!

Take Me Home (Tiesto Remix)-Jess Glynne.

From Me To You-Yolanda Be Cool.

Amazing-Foxes. This basically sums up my feelings about life right now!

Lone- What So Not, JOY.

Made For You- Alexander Cardinale. The next few songs are slightly more chill, and I'm loving them all so much at the moment, especially this one!

Love Is Blind- Lapsley.

Rusty-Hein Cooper.

Nostalgia-Doe Paoro.

I hope you guys enjoy this month's playlist! As usual, you can find it on Spotify here
I love how music has the power to change your mood so easily, and all of these songs have definitely been helping me get through this month! What songs have you guys been loving lately?

I only just got over the excitement of my last nomination for this award, and now I've been nominated again, twice! I honestly can't express how grateful and happy it makes me that you guys would think to nominate my little blog! Sending much love to both Carly and Effi-you both have such wonderful blogs and I'm so honoured to be nominated by you!

10 Facts About Me

Saturday, 9 April 2016

So I don't know about you guys, but I've always been one of those people who said 'oh I can't think of anything!' whenever I was in that situation where people ask you to introduce yourself and say something interesting...so now if I'm ever put on the spot again I'll just come back to this post and say one of these things! I love reading other people's versions of these posts and getting to know the person behind the blog a bit more, so I hope you guys enjoy this! Here's ten somewhat random facts that I thought you might not know about me...

1. I have three passports! I was born in New Zealand but have lived in Australia for quite a while, so I have passports for both as well as a British one as my dad is from England. At least I have backup if I ever lose one haha!

2. I'm addicted to smoothies. And coffee. And coffee in smoothies. My current fave is frozen banana with coconut water and a shot of coffee...trust me, it's amazing!

3. I was supposed to be born on St Patrick's day (but was born 7 weeks premature!)... and I've always been obsessed with everything to do with Ireland and want to go there soo bad! Coincidence?!

4. I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to pretty stationery and everything copper....so much so that my sister told me that she'd get me a can of copper spray paint for my birthday so I could just turn all my possessions copper!

5. I've never lived in the same house for more than 2/3 years-my family has moved around a lot and I've lived in 4 different countries and lots of different places in most of those countries!

6. I love to be organised and can get super stressy when I don't have enough time on my own to organise myself and make my to-do lists!

7. I love to read and I'm kinda ridiculously fast at it, I regularly read an entire book in an afternoon and it's a bit terrible! Once I'm hooked I just can't put a book down which means I finish it so quickly and don't have the time to truly appreciate it...but I just have to know what happens!

8. My all time favourite TV show is Doc Martin, and I dream of being a GP in some cute little town one day(minus the grumpy-ness though!)

9. I'm a Hufflepuff! I was actually so excited when I first took the test on Pottermore and was sorted into Hufflepuff, I think it's just the perfect place for me!

10. If you hadn't noticed already-my eyes crinkle up so much when I smile that I always look like I'm squinting! It's rather annoying but I've just learnt to accept it! You always know I'm smiling properly if it looks like I can't see!

What's something that people don't know about you? I'd love to get to know you guys some more too!
